How to get there

The venue for gotoAndSki is literally at the very end of the road (as you can see on the map) in the heart of the Alps in the Lauterbrunnen valley.

BY PLANE: Plenty of low cost airlines fly to Geneva and Zurich, usually EasyJet being a good choice. But you can search for other deals at eBookers. Just a piece of advice, don’t wait for a few weeks before the event or “low-cost” will get higher than regular airlines. Just found a roundtrip London-Geneva for 49£ on Easyjet for example. For the connection to Stechelberg from Geneva or Zurich, check the train option or the car pool recommendation (details below in the car section).

BY TRAIN: The most comfortable way to Stechelberg from Geneva or Zürich is definitely by train. You have direct trains from the airport in both cases. There’s also good connections from Germany (via Interlaken). The train ticket will include a short bus ride from Lauterbrunnen (the last train stop before Stechelberg). The last bus stop is just in front the venue. Just search for “Stechelberg Hotel” from your departure city in the national railway website. You can also buy the ticket on the train station when you arrive. You can always check if someone has an available place in the car pool (read below).

BY CAR: Considering this is a computer geek event, directions by car are quite simple: Insert “Stechelberg” in your GPS and drive. The venue is at the very end of the valley road and will be easy to find. Most of the drive will be on the highway, only the last short stretch will be a local road, but still in very good conditions. Just be sure you have winter tires and drive carefully. If you are driving and have available seats, please add yourself to the carpool below. Let’s be as green as possible here :)

CARPOOLING: As it was done last year, gotoAndSki tries to promote carpooling from Geneva and Zürich to the alps (and return). This is good for practical, environmental and economical reasons. This list will be always updated with the seats available and taken. Use the email below to contact in case you are driving from Geneva or Zürich and have seats available, and also if you are landing in one of these airports and would like to take one of the available seats (if any). Check the departure times for each car to see if it is compatible with your flights. If you are booking your flight planning one of the seats, send an SMS for a faster response and locking a seat in one of the cars. Due to bags/equipment each car will probably only take 4 people.

EMAIL if you are driving and have seats available or if you want to take one of those seats.
